Beyond simple: There’s no need to brew tea or steam milk. Just combine everything over ice and you’re done. It’s a two-minute recipe, tops.

Ingredients You’ll Need
- Chai concentrate
- Eggnog
- Milk
- Ice cubes
- Whipped cream
- Nutmeg (freshly grated or ground)
Ingredient Notes
Chai concentrate: Use your favorite brand of chai tea concentrate. I like Tazo, which you can find almost anywhere. If you’re feeling ambitious, you can also make your own homemade chai concentrate.
Eggnog: This drink has two co-stars: the chai and the eggnog, so choose a brand you love.
Eggnog is quite rich, so I like to cut it in half with milk to lighten it up (that’s actually how Starbucks makes their Eggnog Latte). If you want full holiday decadence, go with all eggnog. It’s completely your call.
Milk: Any milk works here, whether dairy, oat, almond, or another favorite. Just use what you enjoy.
Nutmeg: Freshly grated nutmeg adds that extra holiday sparkle. Use the fine side of your grater or a microplane, like the kind you’d use for Parmesan. The flavor difference is worth it.
If all you have is ground nutmeg or cinnamon, that’s totally fine too. No shame here.

How to Make an Iced Eggnog Chai Latte
Detailed recipe and instructions are in recipe card at bottom of post.
- Pour chai into your glass.
Start with your favorite chai concentrate as the base. - Add the milk and eggnog.
Adjust the ratio however you like. Half milk, half eggnog is my go-to. - Stir it all together.
I like to stir before adding ice so everything blends easily. - Add ice and top it off.
Once it’s chilled, pile on the ice, a generous swirl of whipped cream, and a sprinkle of nutmeg (or cinnamon).
That’s it! No brewing, no mess.
Try the Hot Version! If you love this iced drink, you’ve got to try my Starbucks Copycat Hot Eggnog Chai Latte too. It’s the cozy winter version made with the same chai and eggnog combo, served warm and topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg. Perfect for chilly mornings or holiday evenings by the tree.
Recipe Notes
- Make it your own: Adjust the sweetness or spice level by choosing different chai concentrates. Some are sweeter than others.
- Non-alcoholic: This eggnog chai is completely non-alcoholic, making it perfect for anyone who wants that classic holiday flavor without the spirits.
- Serving idea: Add a cinnamon stick or star anise for an easy festive touch.
- Shortcut cleanup: You’ll love this part: the only dish you’ll dirty is the glass you drink it from.
Save Big with This Starbucks Style Eggnog Chai Latte
If you love treating yourself to a holiday drink from Starbucks, you’ll be happy to know this one tastes just as good and costs way less.
Here’s how the math works out:
- A 32 ounce carton of chai concentrate costs about $5.49
- A 32 ounce carton of eggnog costs about $4.99
- A half gallon of milk runs about $1.99
One carton of chai is enough for about eight 16 ounce lattes (the same size as a Starbucks grande). That means each homemade Eggnog Chai Latte comes out to roughly $1.50 per drink compared to $5.65 at Starbucks.
That’s more than 70 percent savings, and honestly, it tastes almost identical.
If you buy two cartons of chai, you can make 16 drinks for a little more than $1 each, with some milk to spare. Cozy, creamy, and much easier on the wallet.
