If there’s ever a drink that captures the cozy, sweet magic of Christmas morning, this is it.
My version of the Dutch Bros Christmas Morning Chai uses the same ingredients the coffee shop does: Oregon Chai, Torani White Chocolate Sauce, and half and half. Just three ingredients and a few minutes on the stove, and you’ve got a creamy, spiced latte that tastes every bit as festive as it looks.
I usually make it while the cinnamon rolls are in the oven and Christmas music is playing. It smells incredible as it warms on the stove.
The chai brings comforting holiday spices with notes of cinnamon and cardamom. The white chocolate adds smooth sweetness, and the half and half makes it extra rich and creamy. It’s Christmas, after all.
As a tea drinker who only enjoys coffee occasionally, I love that chai is finally getting the holiday spotlight it deserves.
Starbucks, Dunkin, and Dutch Bros all offer seasonal chai drinks now, and I am here for it. If you’re a fan of Starbucks holiday drinks, you might also enjoy my Iced Gingerbread Chai Latte — another Christmastime favorite for chai lovers.
What Is the Dutch Bros Christmas Morning Chai?
The Dutch Bros Christmas Morning Chai is a sweet, creamy white chocolate chai latte made with equal parts Oregon Chai and breve (half and half), and Torani white chocolate sauce. It comes iced or hot and can be topped with whipped cream or a soft top, and cinnamon or nutmeg.
Why You’ll Love This Festive Chai Latte
- Exact match to Dutch Bros. This Christmas chai recipe is made with the same brands they use.
- Ready in minutes. Just warm, stir, and top.
- Creamy and cozy. The half and half gives it that coffeehouse texture and richness.
- Perfect for Christmas morning. Easy enough for a relaxed start to the day, special enough to enjoy while exchanging gifts.
Ingredients for Christmas Morning Chai
- Oregon Chai Tea Latte Concentrate (or your favorite brand)
- Torani White Chocolate Sauce
- Half and half
- Whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- Freshly grated nutmeg or cinnamon
Ingredient Notes
Oregon Chai: It has that perfect balance of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and ginger. For a true Dutch Bros match, use Oregon Chai, but any good chai concentrate will do. Or make it ahead from scratch with my Homemade Chai Concentrate.
Torani White Chocolate Sauce: Smooth, sweet, and creamy. It blends beautifully with the chai’s spice and makes the drink taste just like Dutch Bros.
Half and Half: This ingredient makes it feel rich and luxurious. Milk works too, but half and half gives you that signature texture.
Whipped Cream: The Dutch Bros latte doesn’t come with a topping, but it’s often ordered with a “soft top,” which is essentially whipped cream whipped to soft peaks.
During the busy holiday season, and especially on Christmas morning, I like to keep it simple and use vanilla whipped cream from a can in the fridge. I love how it slowly melts into the hot drink.
Nutmeg or Cinnamon: A little sprinkle on top is the perfect finishing touch. I like to grate whole nutmeg or a cinnamon stick with a microplane for the best flavor and freshest aroma.

How to Make Christmas Morning Chai Latte at Home
Detailed recipe and instructions are in recipe card at bottom of post.
- Warm the chai. Pour the Oregon Chai concentrate into a small saucepan and warm over medium heat until steaming. Do not boil.
- Add white chocolate sauce. In your favorite holiday mug, add the Torani White Chocolate Sauce. Pour the warmed chai over the top and stir until smooth.
- Steam the half and half. Steam or froth the half and half until hot and creamy. A steam wand, electric frother, or even a small whisk all work great.
- Assemble and top. Pour the steamed half and half into the mug, spooning foam on top if desired. Finish with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon or nutmeg.
Recipe Tips for the Perfect Holiday Chai
- Use a 12 to 14 ounce mug to give the steamed milk and whipped cream plenty of room.
- Don’t skip the topping. It’s what gives this latte that signature Dutch Bros soft top feel.
- If you’re serving several mugs, you can warm the chai and half and half together on the stove and pour over the white chocolate right before serving.
